Weekend with just mummy

Reni started this week. She is a very sweet baby. Alex was a little jealous on the first day and I wonder what he thought. By day 2 he was giving Reni kisses and was very happy to see her in the morning.

It was 4th of July on Wed and we hosted a gathering at our house. Luke went to Boston on Friday night so Alex had lot of mummy time. On Sat I was on a mission to get Alex used to eating in a restaurant. We went to Elmos and we spent 1 hour at the table. He ate so much - pancakes, spaghetti, grits, egg, muffin. On Sat afternoon Zahir came to play. Today we went to the museum with Zahir and Jessica to the "mist exhibition". Alex loved to press the button to turn the mist on.

Tonight he helped me prepare his dinner. Alex washed the mushrooms and handed to me to chop. He stirred the eggs. Then he watched me cook the omelet on the stove from his high chair. When it all ready but too hot to eat, Alex fanned the plate to cool it down.

Alex has really changed over the last week. He now knows to say please and thank you and can repeat almost anything. In the morning when I go and get him, he says "up". I say, "say please" and he will sign the word please (rubbing chest). Then I say "please mama" and he repeats mama. Today when he wanted to be picked up, I said "please who?" and he said "mama". He also follows all instructions such as go to room to change nappy or go to kitchen to eat. All of this is in Cantonese, but Alex understands English and Mandarin too. Such a smart boy!
