Med school reunion

What a busy month. Luke was away two weekends ago, I was on call last week, this weekend Luke was on call and we had visitors, and then next weekend Luke will be away and the following weekend I will be away.

The visitors were Yu Jo from Australia and Saar from Philadelphia. YJ is Alex's godfather and Saar was our best man.

Alex amazes me with how smart he is. He can recognizes colors and comments when I wear red (which is often). He can count from 1 to 3 in Chinese and Christi says he copies her with the ABCs. When we read books he can finish the sentences.

Long due!

Gosh, life has been busy so there is a long break between blogs.

We enjoyed having Kitty mum stay and it made us think how wonderful it would be to live closer to grandparents. This weekend Luke was away in San Francisco. Alex and I did a lot of things together. We went to a 2 yo birthday party,  read books, went to the park, cooked together and ate dinner together. Alex is so cute with his speaking these days. I wish I had a video to record all the things he says, but that recorder will have be my memory. Tonight before bed he said "yes" for all the people he loved - mama, daddy, po po, gung gung, a ma, a gung, Reni and Christi.

He has new teeth popping through. I felt them tonight and that might explain why he has been waking up at 5 am!

Alex loves books. He was playing in the living room on Saturday. He was flicking through books and pretending to read and also choosing ones for me to read. Alex's way of asking is to crawl into my lap with the book and say "dook" (= read in Cantonese). How could one resist? After reading aloud about 10 times and sometimes the same book 3 times, I thought we would take a break from the books and crack into the toys. Alex was interested when I suggested it. We created the drama... opened the cupboard of toys... Alex oohed , giggled and.... went straight to the books and took more to read to himself. He is such a book worm.
